Tricuspid regurgitation pressure gradient to diagnose pulmonary hypertension: a diagnostic accuracy study

چکیده

Background Pulmonary hypertension carries significant morbidity and mortality in children. Early diagnosis management may improve outcomes children with pulmonary hypertension. Heart catheterization, a gold standard for diagnosing hypertension, is an invasive procedure not widely available. Echocardiography can be used as alternative diagnostic tool hypertension.
Objective To determine the value of tricuspid regurgitation pressure gradient on echocardiography compared to heart catheterization diagnose children.
Methods This test study was done medical record data acyanotic congenital disease who underwent cardiac procedures from January 2018 December 2020 at Dr. Sardjito Hospital, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Data were analyzed obtain sensitivity, specificity, positive negative predictive values, well likelihood ratios.
 Results A total 98 included. The sensitivity specificity artery 64.4% 54.5%, respectively. ratio 1.42. pre-test post-test probability this 88.7% 91.7%, respectively.
Conclusion Tricuspid measured using has poor

Regression of Tricuspid Regurgitation after Pulmonary Endarterectomy

Method We performed analysis of patients who were operated on during the period between years 2004-2011. The data was collected from a set of 100 patients, 65 men and 35 women. Only 1 patient underwent concomitant tricuspid valve surgery tricuspid valve repair. We analyzed different echocardiographic parameters of all our patients prior to operation and then 1 month, and 3 years after the proce...

Does lowering pulmonary arterial pressure eliminate severe functional tricuspid regurgitation? Insights from pulmonary thromboendarterectomy.

OBJECTIVES Because pulmonary thromboendarterectomy (PTE) can result in an immediate reduction in pulmonary artery (PA) pressure, we sought to evaluate the effect of PTE on severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR) without tricuspid annuloplasty. BACKGROUND Few data exist regarding the frequency and magnitude of functional TR improvement after reduction in PA pressure. METHODS We identified 27 pat...

Tricuspid Regurgitation Improvement in Relation to the Amount of Pulmonary Artery Pressure Reduction

BACKGROUND Given the common concomitance of tricuspid regurgitation (TR) with significant mitral stenosis, we aimed at exploring the relation between TR severity and pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH) in patients who underwent mitral balloon valvotomy (MBV). METHODS We analyzed the echocardiography data of 133 consecutive patients (82.0% female, mean age 44.68 ± 12.56 years) with different d...

Leaflet area as a determinant of tricuspid regurgitation severity in patients with pulmonary hypertension.

BACKGROUND Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is a risk factor for mortality in pulmonary hypertension (PH). TR severity varies among patients with comparable degrees of PH and right ventricular remodeling. The contribution of leaflet adaptation to the pathophysiology of TR has yet to be examined. We hypothesized that tricuspid leaflet area (TLA) is increased in PH, and that the adequacy of this incr...
